Dr. Elmer Guy
President, Navajo Technical University
Dr. Elmer J. Guy has served as the President of the Navajo Technical University (NTU) since 2006. Under Dr. Guy’s leadership, NTU was named one of the top 120 community colleges in the United States by the Aspen Institute College of Excellence Program and one of the top three best higher education institutions in New Mexico by bestcolleges.com.
Before joining NTU, Dr. Guy was appointed by Navajo Nation president to serve as both executive director and deputy director of the Navajo Nation’s Department of Education. During his tenure with the Navajo Nation Department of Education, several needed programs were successfully developed and implemented.
Dr. Guy serves on the College Board as a Trustee, Vice Chair of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC), Co-chair of the World Indigenous Higher Education Consortium (WINHEC), and appointed by the President of the United States to serve on the National Board of Education Sciences.
